Aspen Mountain rises out of the heart of downtown Aspen. Known for its steeps, bumps, and challenging black diamonds, it draws expert skiers from around the world. There is also Snowcat skiing on the backside. Aspen is also known as an arts and entertainment center, with concerts, art exhibits, theater, and ballet. Discover a string quartet playing on the corner during a stroll through the charming downtown streets or catch a performance at the stunning Wheeler Opera House. The Aspen Art Museum features world-class exhibits and outdoor sculptures in the Grande Park. Aspen has more than 500 performances, lectures, classes, films, and exhibits on their calendar throughout the year. In the summer months, this beautiful area offers kayaking, river rafting, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, hot-air ballooning, parasailing, and tennis. In the winter, besides world-class skiing, there is snowboarding, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, sleigh rides, and ice-skating. Tour historic sites, including two ghost towns. 404 South Galena, Aspen, CO - From Denver International Airport: Take I-70 West to Glenwood. Take Highway 82 approximately 40 miles to Aspen. Highway 82 will turn sharply to the right and become 7th Street. Take 7th Street two blocks and turn left onto Main Street. Take Main Street nine blocks to Monarch Street. Turn right onto Monarch Street. Take a left on Durant Avenue. Turn left on Mill Street (towards McDonalds) and veer right in the alleyway. The end of the alleyway will open up on to the loading zone in front of the Double Diamond. Park here.
